"Do you think I took you for granted?"
I received that text this morning. I haven't responded. At first, I thought, "duh idiot! You totally took me for granted!" Thankfully I didn't text that, because I know that my answer is different. I believe that he knew that I would love him unconditionally and that I would always forgive him. He knew that I was quick to anger AND quicker to forgive. With my ever-willingness to forgive him for the actions he knew upset me, he continued to do them. In the end, yes he took me for granted. He took for granted my forgiveness, not anything else.

Perhaps your forgiveness as well as your kindness? He's still taking that for granted. "Stacie will do stuff for me and be nice to me, even though I've been rude and selfish to her lately"... Urg!
